Which will have higher ratings - Friends rerun, Idol results show, or Survivor?
Interesting actual head-to-head on Thursday (4/15).
Seems that due to GWB, that Fox rearranged the schedule. Now the first 30 minutes of Survivor: All-Stars (voting off 1 of the remaining 8) will be on at the same time as the 30-minute American Idol results show (eliminating 1 of the remaining 8).
If both of those are shows you watch, you might have a problem. The smart DVDTalker either will just record both on their DVR, or might skip the first 15 minutes of both, then watch the last 15 mins. of AI and the remainder of Survivor (for the immunity challenge and the vote).
Just for sake of discussion, I included Friends, which is showing back-to-back reruns at that time.
But which will win the "Neilsen" ratings? I'll use the "Fast Nationals", as reported on zap2it.com.
Side bet, what % will the drop off be from AI to Tru Calling? Especially with the second half going up against CSI and The Apprentice Finale.

AI will win.
Tru will probably lose about 70% of AI's audience, though I imagine every commercial break will be hyping the Tamyra guest spot.
The real battle will be a new CSI vs The Apprentice Finale

The only one I care about is Survivor. I, for the life of me, cannot figure out the appeal of Idol, let alone a simple Results show. Plus damn Idol is F-ing up Tru Calling tonight - I now have a 3-way conflict btwn Tru Calling, CSI, and Apprentice at 9.
I agree - the real battle is CSI vs Apprentice.

I'm going to watch Survivor, but I'll flip over to Idol at around 23 -26 minutes past the hour to see who won. No sense in watching the whole Idol results show, since all but the last part of it is boring anyway.

I can't believe you people are bagging on the "American Idol" results show. It is, quite simply, one of the most perfectly constructed shows on television. Apart from the commericial breaks (which all network shows have anyway), there isn't a single moment of wasted time.

I dont even watch the last few minutes. I either hear the results the next day on the news or from here. I'll watch the result show when they get close to the end, maybe the last two.

Here is what is on my agenda tonight. Even with 2 Replays, I am actually going to have to, gasp, watch something live to cover all the bases.
Survivor
Tru Calling
The Apprentice
CSI
Without a Trace
Penn & Teller Bullshit (which I will have to catch on the Pacific 10 pm showing).
I guess the easiest way to handle it is to watch Tru Calling live.

I've noticed twice this week where you've thread crapped. Please note that this is a violation of forum rules. If you continue to do this, administrative action may be taken against your account.

"Survivor: All-Stars," 11.5/19, gave CBS the lead at 8 p.m. NBC took second with two repeats of "Friends," 8.7/15 and 10.8/18. The "Idol" results show faltered some against the stiff competition, drawing a 9.2/16. Combined with the first half-hour of "Tru Calling" (4.8/8), FOX averaged 7.0/12 for the hour. A rerun of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" on ABC was fourth. "WWE Smackdown!" finished fifth for UPN, ahead of "Steve Harvey's Big Time" and "Like Family" on The WB.

It's funny how it was half AI/half Survivor on the poll, but anyone who posted in the thread said that AI was an unstoppable lock.
That's why I start threads like this.
BTW...
At 9 p.m., the first half of the two-hour "Apprentice" finale posted a 16.1/25 for NBC, beating a first-run "CSI," 14.6/23, on CBS. FOX held onto third with the conclusion of "Tru Calling," 3.8/6, and a "Simpsons" repeat, 2.8/4. "Smackdown," 3.0/5, moved up to fourth, beating "Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital" on ABC. The WB again trailed with an hour of "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment."
Red Dog:
If you DID watch Tru Calling live, you were one of just a few who saw that second half hour.
How bad is that, that a 3.0 Smackdown beat Kingdom Hospital? What were the ratings for Karen Sisco and LOF?
