If you were to pit the top rated shows from each network against each other ...

Let say you picked from each of the four networks, their top ranked show and pitted them against each on a neutral night like Sunday night at 7pm. Which would you think would "win" the hour in total viewers and 18-49 adults?

CBS - CSI (Thursday)
FOX - American Idol (Tuesday night)
NBC - Friends
ABC - Monday Night Football

I would love to see this bloodbath.

MNF over the long run.

The scripted shows, people could catch in repeats. Maybe AI would win in the short term, but that show is a flash in the pan.

I think they'd all pretty much draw the same amount of viewers - 20-25 million. The NBC/CBS Thursday night fight for the past two seasons has shown that large amounts of can watch different networks on the same day/time.

The erosion of viewership numbers is partly based on (relative) quality of shows on and partly on options. Put the best of the best on the same time and you've solved both problems, there'll be much more people watching TV than usual and the programming will be better...and all will do very well.

Except MNF, that's not a typical show, that would depend on the match-up.

MNF would win if just men were in the demographic.

CSI otherwise.

AI and CSI have been pretty much neck to neck in rating for the last couple of weeks. I think if there is a head-to-head match up, CSI would win in total viewers, but AI would win the younger demographics.

The family would dis-own the dad that would not let them watch AI because of MNF.

Is it still Monday Night Football if it's airing on Sunday night?

American Idol would probably win. They'd probably end up having more special guest judges/performances though.
