Issues with a Samsung DVD-P421
I've had a Samsung DVD-P421 for about 2 years now. It performed decently, though not perfectly for the majority of that time. In the last couple months, however, it has started having problems.
There are times when it has been going through movies flawlessly and then suddenly started skipping or stopped outright. Sometimes it freezes, sometimes it dumps me back to the menu. If I power cycle or try to reinsert the disc, I get a no disk error. These same discs run fine in my PS2. This has also happened with both brand new discs and poorly-handled netflix rentals.
I have also noticed that the player gets very hot, which I have not obeserved before. At first I attributed this to its sitting on top of my receiver, so I moved it. No luck. Tons of heat, and the discs are hot to handle coming out of the tray.
I'm really at a loss. I was considering buying a lens cleaner, but I don't want to blow $20 on something that may not really address the problem.
Any advice?

DVD Talk Legend
Well, I bought a HD-921 at Christmas time, and the thing worked for a day before it stopped reading movies (a No Disc message would appear). Took it back for a replacement and haven't had any problems with the new one. It may be a heating issue though...I had my cable box on top of my old one when it went down on me after a day...I put nothing (no matter how light) on my new one - just as a precaution.
