Half life, Do you need a cd key to play?
A buddy of mine just bought half life on ebay so he could play counter strike, problem is, it doesnt have a cd key? The seller told him that you do not need a cd key, it just installs.
Is this correct?
If so he is out of luck cause he wanted to play counter strike.

Any help would be great.

I am not 100% sure on this, but I don't think the cd version of cs works anymore. I think he needs to download steam. www.steampowered.com

and he does need a cd key

From my knowledge, you still need a CD key to run it. steam holds your cd key.

unfortunately, the ONLY thing he needed was the CD Key. You have to download steam

Yeah RoQuEr is right.. If he had a cdkey he could have downloaded halflife for free from steam, along with counterstrike.
