Region 2 release, but surely a Region 1 release isn't 'too far' behind.
But the new 5.1 track is a welcome addition. Hope it gets a new transfer as well.

Slightly off topic, but why does MGM always seem to put their SEs out in R2 a year or two before R1? Robocop, Great Escape, Misery, Fish Called Wanda, etc. There doesn't seem to be a logical reason for this, such as a rights issue.

Sorry, I don't follow. Stated release day IS around Memorial Day. A week an a day earlier to be exact, but close enough.

You can find our full review of the May 24th release of the UK Region 2 A Bridge Too Far Special Edition here.
Summary:
A film which covers a huge epic battle. This SE does justice to the span and scope of the story. We learn a great deal about the battle and about the creation of this film. The extras are as comprehensive as we could have hoped for, in particular 3 very good documentaries and an informative commentary track, which you should be listened to and watched in order to fully appreciate both the battle and the film.
A Bridge Too Far has been somewhat overlooked in recent years, as this ensemble type of film-making has fallen out of fashion, however, it is hard to think of a film which does exactly what it ‘says on the tin’ as this film does. This SE is the best version of this film available, highly recommended.
