Mtvs Pimp My Ride
I'm not a big Mtv watcher, but I gotta say I really love this show. I love watching stuff like Monster Garage and Monster House or the tlc programs like While You Were out or whatever... the idea of someone living with crappy beat down stuff (something i'm familiar with) and having a crew give their stuff ultimate makeovers just appeals to me (I know that's not what monster garage is about, but that show is worth mention cuz I like shows in a garage where they do crazy shit to normal vehicles). Pimp My Ride works because not only are the car transformations highly dramatic, the reactions from these kids are great. I wish someone had done this for me when I was in high school or college... too bad I'm too old for Mtv... I'd like my ride pimped. Anyone else watch this?

I watched my first episode the other night when that girl had her Honda pimped out. I was hesitant at first about watching this show but decided to give it a try because I was taping 3 episodes of Making the Band and it came on right after. I thought the show was pretty good and those guys do an excellent job with these cars. I will definitely be watching this show again. One question though? Is it a requirement that every car have a PS2?

I've caught a couple episodes. Those car owners are lucky as hell.

Oh, right - Cars=Music. MTV=Music Television=Cars. Got it! How stupid of me.
I remember years ago when MTV played these things called "Music Videos". Oh, those were the good old days. . . .
Sorry. Those responsable for the thread crap have been sacked. And it still sucks that MTV doesnt play music anymore.
Sorry, those behind the sacking have just been sacked. Please continue.

No car is big enough to hold an Xbox considering it's width and weight.....

The Hi-Jet and the Honda were the best...
As for the PS2 thing - I was wondering that myself... I figured they either had a deal with Sony or else they just figured it's more common for people to already have PS2 games. An Xbox would be sweet indeed. Maybe they pick the PS2 because it's the slimmest console between it and the xbox and it's front loading unlike the GC.
As for the Mtv playing music videos - that's what Mtv2 is for. I actually can't remember a time when all they played was music videos, but I've only been watching that channel for 19 years.
I wonder what they would do to a 1980 Volvo 240DL Wagon... I had one and it could be pretty sweet. If I was younger and my car was more busted, I'd send in a tape of me and my 93 Explorer.

Too bad they don't show the part where the new pimped out ride is stolen by a brotha 10 minutes after it leaves the garage.

The only thing I don't like about this show is how they do Hondas and the like. Pimping a ride should be all about 70s and 80s American cars -- the bigger the car, the better.
That green Cutlass was my favorite so far, but I have only been watching since the Caddy a couple weeks back.
