San Francisco Giants: Barry Bonds will launch a Web site -- barrybonds.com -- to the public perhaps as soon as April.
Bonds says he plans to answer fan questions on a weekly basis once the season is under way.
"They will be able to chat with me, ask me how my week is going, make comments on what they feel," Bonds told the Contra Costa Times. "If you want to interact with me, you're going to have that opportunity on my Web page.
"I want people to have the opportunity to see what I'm doing," Bonds said. "People say they don't know me. They'll get the opportunity to know me now."
Bonds also plans to sell authentic memorabilia, including T-shirts and jerseys with both his and his godfather Willie Mays' likenesses on them. With two more home runs, Bonds will tie Mays' mark of 660.

On topic, I'm not sure what I think about this, but I guess it's cool. I've always felt like it was Bonds' right to distance himself from the fans the way he has and have never really cared; in fact, I've somewhat respected him for it. Part of me doesn't like this, since it's sort of pandering to the very people who've unfairly judged him without any real knowledge of what he's like, especially in light of the roid issue. I rather liked the Bonds that just didn't care what other people who didn't know him thought of him. However, this is a cool thing to do for the fans, and perhaps he's genuinely trying to give back before he ultimately leaves the game and give us some insight on the personal life of quite possibly the best player of his generation. If so, who am I to complain? It's hard to know what his motives really are, but it seems like a good thing, and I'm certainly interested in seeing how it turns out.

Going back to Deftones' point about Barry and his "lack" of hustle in some routine situations --
I'd rather have Barry duckout of the way at 2nd base instead of taking out the shortstop and taking a knee to the head and end up getting a bad head injury that would keep him and his home-run-threat-every-time-he's-at-the-plate badass self out of the lineup.
Take a look at Griffey, Frank Thomas, etc. Injuries can beat the shit out of a once great major league career. I know I'll never convince Deftones of this, but it's a fair tradeoff to have a guy not slide hard into second or sprint their ass off to first on a routine grounder when he's putting in countless hours before and after games in order to be a consistent threat in the heart of a pretty weak offensive lineup.

It doesn't matter. There are tons of players that are as old as Bonds that continue to hustle and play the game it's meant to be. Injuries are a part of the game. You risk that in any sport you play.

You dont understand. Bonds is pure evil. I've never met him personally but thats beside the point. I listen to enough sports radio to understand whats going on and if those guys say hes a jerk then thats good enough for me. He punches babies and everything. Bonds also does not want to impart any knowledge at all to any of his teammates because he says he won't know what team they'll be on tomorrow. Most players share advice on players not even on their team currently. Heck, Duncan influenced Kobe personally on adding the bank shot to his arsenal.

He's one of the few players that aren't. The only other one that I can think of is Damian Miller, the catcher for the A's. His is by force, not by choice. He can't be a part of the union, because he played as a replacement player in that strike season. They won't allow his entry into the Union.

Well he took Gary Sheffield under his wing several years ago and taught him some things when Sheff was with the Marlins. So yes, he is willing to share his knowledge.
