. . . .probably just a rumor or April Fools joke. However the Force.net says that Star Wars III is called "The Creeping Fear".
And before everyone goes off about how lame Attack of the Clones and Phantom Menace are for names, go do some research on old movie serials and pulp 40's novels. That's EXACTLY what Star Wars is - a million dollar republic serial.
Me, I hope Lucas goes with that name, or something very much like it.

I agree that it is an appropriate 40's pulp name, but it doesn't fit this series. SW has always been an adventure pulp series and this title seems too film noir/horror to me.

So I will reserve my judgment for the movie. The movie, after all, is what really counts here. He could call it Star Wars: Dipass Peanut Boots and people would go and see it in droves. The title really doesn't matter at this point in the game, but I am confident the title chose will fit the movie and we will realize it once we see it.

Heh. I do think this is a decent title. All of Lucas's movie names have been jarring to hear at first, but seem to fit over time and become endearing. I know I thought Phantom Menace and Attack of Clones were off when I first heard them, but they sound irght now. Of course, it's not like Empire Strikes Back is any less goofy than these titles (I mean, just think about it). But they work...and become endearing. If the films good...that's what is most important. I'm hoping it is.

Just as everybody said about the previous two titles before they saw the movies, then they saw the movies and the titles made sense.

The Phantom Meance was an awful name. Did it make sense? If you loosely connect it. For the most part what made the Original Trilogy more appealing with it's names were that they were dumbed down.
In A New Hope you realize that there is a power and Luke and his rebel group were The New Hope. Empire Strikes back was exactly that.. the empire striking back. Return of the jedi was pretty clear.. A jedi returned.
Attack of the Clones was odd. Sure it made a connection but really.. It could have been called "Clone Wars" and it would have sufficed just as well.

None of the rumors for Episodes 1 or 2 turned out to be correct. I'll wait for the official announcement.
Which I thought this was. Misleading thread title.

I agree with Groucho. Misleading thread title for a rumor. and yes, The clones never really attacked, they went in to defend.

Man , all this talk. I'll tell you all right now it's speculation. Not the title, but you know, the actual title:
Star Wars Episode III: Speculation.
So when it's reported on a messageboard that Lucas says "The title of Episode III will be Speculation." Someone will respond with "I bet that's speculation." And the respons will be "Yes."
ok bye.
