That definitely is a good trailer. It's nice to have a trailer not give away the entire film (even when you know what's gonna happen).

Yeah, heaven forbid we know what is going to happen in the film. I mean they should really becareful what material they release before. I wouldn't want to have already read it or anything. :p
I can't wait. I even bought the damn_t-shirt from hot topic.

Knowing what it's about is fine. It's when the trailer gives the best/critical parts of the movie away that I get angry i.e.ID4 showing them blowing up the capital (http://videodetective.com/home.asp?x=y&SpeedTestResults=9000&PublishedID=6493&AltID=&CustomerID=97135&WM=True&Ads=True&Play=TRUE)

And I thought the first trailer was awesome! That one blew it away. I can't wait... at least we don't have to wait until November this time.

I wonder if they got permission from Ray Bradbury to use the phrase "Something Wicked This Way Comes"...it's got to be copyrighted, doesn't it?

Prediction: better than the first two combined.
Hiring Cuaron as director is one of the smartest things the franchise-runners ever did.

Actually that phrase comes from William Shakespeare's play "Macbeth" (Act IV, Scene I) (http://www.worldwideschool.org/library/books/lit/shakespeare/tragedies/macbeth/chap18.html). John Williams uses other lines from this scene for the lyrics to the song that plays during the older Azkaban teaser trailer.
Something Wicked This Way Comes (Teaser Trailer)
Music by John Williams
Lyrics by William Shakespeare
Double, double, toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
Double, double, toil and trouble
Something wicked this way comes
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing
Double, double, toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
Double, double, toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble

Last I heard was that it will be 1 movie. There is a discussion in this thread from August.
I loved the trailer, but I'm kinda disappointed with the poster. Surely Warner Bros could have come up with something more original than the standard "big-head" design. I loved the mockup of the Wanted poster with Sirius Black on it, so why couldn't they have done something along those lines?
Anyway, I am looking forward to PoZ more than either of the previous 2 films, mostly because of the presence of Alfonso Cuaron. I think he stands the best chance of staying true to the books dark tone.

Always liked the Harry Potter stuff, books and movies, but never thought they were anything great. After watching the new trailer, I am actually excited and really looking forward to this. I wonder, if it is very good, if there will be any Columbus backlash...as in how poor of a director he is. That is IF it is leaps and bounds better than the average first two...

I'm not sure how fair of a comparison that would be anyway. The Prisoner Of Azkaban is a much darker book than the first two were, and will need to be handled differently.
While I think that Cuaron will do a better job with this one than Columbus would have, I think that Columbus was just the right pick for the first two.

If POA (still my favorite of the books) is anyway near as delectable as the trailer, I will forgive WB for not giving the first Potter film to Terry Gilliam.
Almost.
Columbus did a serviceable, workmanlike job with the first two, but with no real flair.

Actually, I think they look fine. Harry's supposed to be what, 14, 15 in this one? They look about that. If they get the next one out quick enough, the same kids could act in all of them. Once they get to making the last movies where Harry is in his late teens, anyone up to the age of like 28 could play him. It happens all the time. As long as they don't grow tired of it, these kids will work just fine for the whole series.
Jackskeleton
04-15-04, 09:27 PM
But they are suppose to grow older. Each book is a year after the other. Besides, if you can make 30-40 year olds look at high schoolers on 90210, pulling this off would be a piece of cake.
Scot1458
04-16-04, 09:16 AM
I disagree. How old are they supposed to be? 12? They look a hell of alot older than tweleve. Ron and Hermonie could easly be on the OC getting it on!
time for a new cast. Also I really couldn't tell this movie wasn't directed by Columbus, looks the same to me.

No they are not supposed to be 12. Year 3 is between the ages of 13-14. In case you did not know what a 13-14 year old looks like, think first/second year of high school.
Lastly, the actors themselves are all around the ages of 13-14 right now. I think one is 15.
I think they look exactly as they are supposed to. People just have a hard time with a series where the characters actually get older.
Xander
04-16-04, 01:11 PM
Daniel Radcliffe is 14 years old. So probably 13 years old when shooting this movie. And POA takes place right after Harry's 13th birthday. Seems just fine to me.
At most, the kids will end up being a year or two older than their characters by the end of the series if they keep doing the films. I'm pretty much fine with that.
