Was Keira Knightley really only 15-16 when she was in The Hole?
I was looking around imdb to see what films Keira Knightley might be starring in next (I do that when i'm bored) and noticed she was born in 1985, so that would make her either 15 or 16 (depending on when it was filmed) when she appeared topless in The Hole. I thought for sure she was in mid-20s, but is she really only 19?

In case anyone's curious, the scene is almost a "blink and you'll miss it, er, them" kind of deal. Decent film though.

I don't know exactly how it works, but, apperantly, somehow you can get some kind of permission or something in special cases to allow for this. Franco Zeffirelli did it in order to show a 15-16 year old Olivia Hussey topless in his 1968 version of Romeo And Juliet.

Well, isn't it a British film? In some countries outside the US, seeing a 16 or 17 year old girl's boobs in a film doesn't necessarily risk the downfall of civilization, so its not such a big deal.

The film came out in 2000, so using basic math that would her 15. And I'm quite positive she was born in '85. I can't really confirm it...
I'm assuming this is why it wasn't released here on DVD when it was initially suppose to (Oct. 2003)... then all of a sudden, no advance word, it was cancelled. Who knows, though.
I've read you can get permission from a parent. I believe Kiera's parents were there on the set. Same goes with Thora Birch's scene in American Beauty (she was 17)... odd, considering they were both in The Hole.
But as said previously, it was a very, very, very quick scene. No big deal whatsoever.
The flick was very decent, though. If interested, just get the Region 1 edition from Canada.

Never saw The Hole. Is it (the movie, not the boob) anything worth seeing?
Wasn't the girl in American Beauty underage? She just had her parents on the set. No big deal as far as I know.
