Nintendojo has reported a sequel in the works. No word on a console though...

Good game, but it's a mixed bag.

Legends has more story and some extra characters, but the original ran faster and smoother on the DC. For some reason DC ports don't turn out that well...

Had the Dreamcast version at one time and looking to get it back again. Still have my Dreamcast so I guess I just need to know which version is the better of the two? More story and extra characters may be worth giving up some of the gameplay issues.....anyone have an opinion who has played both?

Is this game worth $27 (with shipping and tax in CA)... any chance it will become player choice in the future.. or the eventually the used one will be less than $20? I still has tons of RPG to catch up... don't know if i should believe the hype and order it and then have it dust up on my shelf for years... any suggestion?

The load times on the GC version are vastly improved. You will thank yourself for this, especially for battles. Also they reduced the encounter rate on the GC version in the dungeons as well and other minor tweaks like extra story parts and characters. Its a great game, I reccomend it no matter which version you get.

I have both, the GC version is far better. Not sure about the comment of it running smoother on DC. I never experienced that and I did a comlpete comparison when the game arrived for GC. To me, it's better in every regard.

That alone would sell me on the GC version. I've never played an RPG that couldn't benefit from reducing the number of random fights.

If you live in California, check out Fry's first. Although Outpost.com and Fry's don't always have the same deals, I did pick up the last SOA they had for 20 bucks at the one in Burbank last week.

No way!!! I was looking for that last copy exactly two days ago! I went to buy it last week, they had two copies, so I picked one and re-sold it for $32, I come back to see if I could find that last one, but no luck, thanks to you!
What a small world we live in.

Man, the random battle encounter rate in the DC version drove me NUTS while trying to find some of those tough discoveries on the world map...

I for one didn't feel the random encounters in the GCN version were vastly improved. Still, if you have a GC, get it. It's the only good true RPG for the system. Actually, it's the only good true RPG i've played this entire generation...

Wow, you sold it for 35 bucks? Is it hard to find or something?
It's gone onto my pretty large backlog of rpgs (which will be queued up even longer because of FF XI)

Same price at Manhattan Beach Fry's - also a bunch of copies

Looks like Fry's stocked up the the old Sega catalog titles (shinobi, skies of arcadia, house of the dead, etc.)
