Was in Barnes and Nobles yesterday perusing a video magazine, when I saw an ad for these discs: the more popular and recognized discs that have been released with this technology have been:

Standing the the Shadow of Motown
Terminator 2 - Extreme Edition

Future releases include:

Step Into Liquid
Journey Into Amazing Caves
Dolphins
The Living Sea
Amazon
To the Limit
The Magic of Flight
Speed
Stormchasers
The Discoverers
Lewis & Clark Great Journey West
The Search for Kennedy's PT 109
Treasure Seekers: Search for the Nile

International releases
Taxi 3
Red Snow

This is really annoying because I already have a number of the Imax discs in my video collection: Amazing Caves, Magic of Flight, Speed, Stormchasers, Discovers, all of which have stunning video and DTS sound, guess I might have to double dip.

I remember there was a thread about these in the bargain forum about a month ago. Isn't there some licensing restrictions, such as they will only play in media player with an internet connection and you have to pay to watch them repeatedly a la the old DIVX system?

Edit: Okay I found the
other thread (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=342537)

Apparently the licensing deal was only for the "free" ones they were offering.

I just got Coral Reef Adventure from Discount DVD. It contains the Windows HiDef disc as well as the usual IMAX DVD including DTS and both 16X9 and 4X3 versions on the same disc.

Amazing. Is there any time limited registration crap in order to play back those bad boys?

No, you just need a player capable of reading WM9 (e.g. Windows Media Player 9).

I had to wait ten minutes for my copy of Coral Reef Adventure to register before playing it. Does this mean I can't watch it on another computer?
