Is it just me or did the animation change on King of the Hill?

Looks a lot more detailed and sharper.

I didn't notice anything tonight. Perhaps you saw a newer episode that has been preserved better.

Yep. KotH switched this season from cel animation to digital (it's still hand-drawn, of course, but the painting and photographing is done digitally instead of with ink-and-paint). It was the last show to use traditional cel animation -- The Simpsons switched last season. It became impossible to use cels because there are fewer and fewer animators who are trained for it; everyone's trained to do digital.

I read this, BTW, in an interview with Wes Archer, the show's supervising animation director (who also directed a lot of the great Simpsons episodes).

Speaking of King of the Hill, it was another great episode yesterday. I always smile when Hank shows off his over-responsible side. It was especially fun to see him do essentially everything right, but get blamed for flooding the town. It's a mark of terrific writers that Hank can be the responsible, level-headed guy, yet not come off as some jerk.

A power-mad Bill was something fun to see, especially using Khan as a mole. Him in uniform getting ready to drown in his bed was too funny! Something I didn't pick up on until the very end was how Peggy had reverted to the childlike state she worried Bobby would fall into. Everyone had their scene in this episode, except Boomhauer.

Boomhauer didn't say anything but he did have a funny bit with his drawer-ful of harmonicas. I also liked Kahn and Minh plotting to rise to power in the chaos.

I guess as of this episode Luanne is semi-officially living with Hank, Peggy and Bobby again.
