Way to use that Brown degree, Jaye!
Loved the "blurbs" of her family she slipped into the article.

While I only thought this episode was about half as good as the first, it still had some laugh-out-loud moments (esp the opening scene). I'll keep watching.

I missed the pilot, but I thought this shows was a little strange, for lack of a better word.
I found it quite dry and hard to get into, like 'Cracking Up."
I doubt I'll ever watch it again.
By the way, the shows on Fox that I don't watch, end up being on forever. Y'all can thank me later.

I have a dirty dirty mind. I enjoyed the episode, but I just kept wondering what it would be like to have the "twins" in bed.

I am pretty dissapointed in this show. The main problem to me is that Jaye is not a likable character.

She's a slacker. I don't neccessarily know if she's meant to be likable.
She's an anti-hero. This whole episode was a fairly deep character study. A study within a study as it were. Quite clever.

Exactly, the writers used this episode to further delve into Jaye's background, but in a fun, stalkerish way that still gets the info to the viewers while also showing the smarts of Jaye to deal with her problem at the moment: Binky.

I didn't think it was as good as last weeks but still pretty good. I liked the blurb she wrote about her sister in the article
Looking over at zap2it at the ratings it looks like it did worse this week. Doesn't look good for the future.

I think the show is great, but it's already dead. If this show is still on the air in three weeks, I'm going to be in utter shock. Playing it Straight might have gotten the lower rating, but Fox isn't paying anything remotely near what they pay for Wonderfalls. Apologize in advance for the slightly long post, but the dire situation this show is in merits it:
Last week, Playing it Straight bowed to a 3.7 and Wonderfalls a 3.4. Fox averaged a 3.5, for fourth place ahead of WB at 2.3.
This week was about as bad as it gets. Wonderfalls got a 2.6, Playing it Straights rating wasn't posted on Zap2it. The average for the night was 2.5, so it appears PiS got a 2.4. Here's the kicker though: Fox tied for fourth with the WB in overall ratings. The WB, who aired a new Reba, a repeat of Reba, the canceled Fox series (Irony is great, ain't it?) Grounded for Life and the godawful The Help.
This show could be the catalyst for the second coming, but Fox isn't going to put up with that. The WB's Friday night slate is far from a ratings powerhouse, and I'm not aware of anytime during Firefly/John Doe's run that Fox came anywhere near a tie with the WB.
A bit of historic data: Firefly premiered to a 4.0, and dropped the second week to a 3.6. The lowest rated Firefly episode was War Stories, the third to last episode aired. It scored a 2.4... The next week it bounced back to 2.6.
More importantly, let's compare with John Doe, who had the same time slot as WF... John Doe premiered on 9/20 to a 6.0. It dropped the second week to a 4.4. After about 20 minutes of looking into it, the lowest rated first-run episode of John Doe looks like it was on April 4th of 2003, with a 3.2.
That means the LOWEST episode of John Doe was almost... what, 20% higher then Wonderfalls second episode? Tru Calling hasn't, to my knowledge, ever risked tying the WB's Thursday nights. Fox will fill Friday's with weekly two hour concerts by William Hung if they have to, but I just don't see them putting up tying with the WB for more than one or two more episodes...
I take some solace in the fact that Jaye and George from Dead Like Me have the exact same personality. This show has it's own little twist, but at least it isn't a loss on the level of Firefly. Dead Like Me will at least fill the WF void for as long as Showtime keeps it around...

Yeah, but the big question is - how is Wonderfalls doing against re-runs of Boy Meets World and Sabrina the Teenage Witch? That's the real litmus test. Friday night is no-mans land anyway. If they moved Wonderfalls to any other night, the ratings would jump.
