Advice/Recommendations on $1K Home Theater
I'm currently in the market to buy a home theater system for about $1000. I realize that this will probably put me in the category of home theater in a box. I'm looking to purchase within 2 weeks time. The only ones I know are the Sony Dream System or the Panasonic SC-ST1 system (which is on sale at bestbuy.com for $799). If anybody has either of these, please post & let me know how they are working out. Also, I'd appreciate any other recommendations. Thanks!

I reccomend getting a Refurb onkyo 501 from www.ecost.com
http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?dpno=157373
for $188
As for speakers I can reccomend fluance, got to www.fluance.com and chek out thier packages. I bought
These fronts on ebay for $56 plus $50 shipping:
http://www.fluance.com/fldycothhisp.html
This center:
http://www.fluance.com/fluancemv670c.html
for $69 plus $20 for shipping
and these surrounds:
http://www.fluance.com/fluanbipsurs.html
for 99 plus 20 for shipping.
Total came to $314 for speakers and I love them they are crisp at any volume, I use them with a refurb Onkyo 501 (I am using an old center for a rear center and plan on buying another center from fluance soon). But $314 plus $200 for the reciever would give you a good amount left over for a good sub...
I love these speakers! They are amazingly clear for the price and I have got nothing but compliments from everyone that has heard them.
