New Godsmack Cd...any good?

Just wondering what people thought of the new cd so far. Debating on getting this.

Haven't heard it yet, but disappointed that it is only 7 songs. Also aside from "keep away" there isn't anything from the first album on it, which sucks cuz the first CD was amazing and the last two have not been imo.

looking like no one has bought it here so far...really was hoping to get some opinions before I leave work today so I know if I need to make a stop at Best Buy on the way home.

I got it and it sounds pretty good, I only managed to listen to it twice but I like it; and for $6.99 at Best Buy you can't go wrong!

It's not really a new cd, just some acoustic reworkings of older tracks.

Ok, on the third listen I think it is GREAT! However, it is not all an acoustic album they do have some electric guitars. My recommendation is to head over to Best Buy and pick it up.

Is it still like 7 bucks? I might have to.

Hmm, cool. I have the first 2 records, I really dug the first one when it came out. I like a couple tracks off the second, but it's really similar to the first. I didn't get faceless, I don't really like the singles from it so far.

I thought this was really good. I only wish there were more songs. Well worth the 7 bucks.

How's the "Smack This" DVD that Best Buy has for ten bucks? (Or buy the EP and DVD for fifteen.)

Worth it?

From the reviews of it on amazon.com...pretty bad. Everyone says that there are just snippets of songs & that it just mainly shows a day in the life of the band (which includes titties). I am gonna pass on the video but pick up the cd this weekend.

i don't think that the 1st and 2nd albums are similar at all, I LOVE the first, but the 2nd is just okay. They went the nu metal way and tuned down further for super chunky heaviness, but I thought the sound of the 1st was much better.

However, I do feel that the 2nd and 3rd (faceless) sound exactly the same.

interesting how opinions are

I've been listening to this for a few days now, and it is quite excellent. It sucks that it's only 7 songs, but thankfully it's priced right.

The three new tracks are good. And I really like the reworking of "Awake".

I had been trying forever to get a copy of the unplugged radio performance they did last year -- now I don't have to! Although Sunny's intro to "Keep Away" was pretty funny:

"This is a song of hope...................... hope to get the bitch out of my life!"

Professor Frink, you are everywhere. Seriously. This is Alex from FMBB, Vesper from MBB, and Alex Pittman from ILM (I assume you go there?). Unlike you, I don't keep the same handle across boards.

I'm not a big Godsmack fan, but this EP really shows off their talent. The acoustic versions of the some of their hit songs are actually better than the originals in my opinion.

Highly recommended.

I broke down and picked this up, and I'm damn happy I did cuz it is FAR better than the last album 'faceless'

Pretty impressed with it for the most part, although the new songs aren't outstanding lyrically and get very repetitive they are still good entertaining songs.

"touche" featuring the guys from Dropbox really has peeked my curiousity about that band and I look forward to checking out that CD when it comes out.

Haven't been really blown away since their first album. This one is pretty good. Although I have to say, acoustic Godsmack, sounds a whole lot like Days of the New.
