How do I post pictures in a thread? How 'bout a small video (mpg, avi, etc.)? I'm guessing I need some sort of host. What's the best/easiest to use? Thanks.

Click here for VB code instructions (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/misc.php?s=&action=bbcode)

You will need to upload your images and files to a host.

If it's a photo already online you just add the following before the URL: [img] and a / inside the brackets of [img] at the end of the url

It's not online yet. I got a video as an attachment in an email that I want to post here. A pic as well. I guess I need to find a free host. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link Arden, very helpful. BTW, how do you give your link a differnt title, instead of having the whole link listed out. Like this Click here for VB code instructions instead of like this http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/misc.php?s=&action=bbcode ? Thanks.

for the purposes of this example replace {} with []

the syntax for a true hyperlink is like this:
{url=http://www.dvdtalk.com}Dvd talk website{/url}

replace the brackets and you get this
DVD talk website (http://www.dvdtalk.com)

Sorry for all the basic questions. I decided against the standard "Say hi to noobie X" post and went straight to asking stupid questions.

All you need to do now is establish a reputation as either an extreme Democrat or and extreme Republican. :)

Bush.

I did some research. I didn't like the free web hosts, but I did learn that Comcast offers free online file storage for subscribers, so I'm going to go that route. I know my thread got moved, but thanks for all the help.

How does he have 13 posts and already shed the "cool new" moniker? Is 10 the limit?

User titles are here (http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=194140), among other places. aerobson has not hit post number 20 yet... so n00bie, get out there and post, post, post!
