Chappelle's Show 3/10/04

I thought the black game show was hilarious. However I cannot stand that keeping it real skit. This one was really terrible. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Was that an actual Chapelle show writer? I could not picture that guy writing the show, although he had a good callback on the chickenhead question to his wrong answer about the loosey before.

The keeping it real skit was the funniest part of the show. I thought the black game show sucked. This was the least funny show yet. I barely laughed and usually I am rolling at the show.

I enjoyed the first two keeping it real skits, but didn't get a single laugh out of the one this week. I liked the black game show, although it would have been an average to poor skit on any other episode this season. Not even Dave can have a killer show every week. Hopefully he comes back strong next week.

Wow, I just cannot imagine how anybody found that keeping it real skit funny at all. I was waiting and waiting for it to finally end. I laughed hard at some of the answers at the game show, but I guess I must have been in a good mood.

I don't like nobody playing on my phone!

Maybe it's because I have heard way too many people say that.

I have also heard way too many people say that, and I swear I work with that girl's clone.

That being said, that was the worst skit in Chappelle's two seasons. Not a single laugh.

The black game show was great though.

"Is pimpin' easy?"

Barber from Brooklyn: "Yeah."

Chappelle: "Somehow, that is also the correct answer!"

The first part of the game show thing was really good, but the second part didn't do much for me. The writer's response on the Good Times question was pretty funny, but that was about it for that part.

As far as the Keepin' It Real sketch, I thought it was solid. I bet there would be a lot less complaining about it if the rest of the show had been spectacular.

Overall, it wasn't quite what I expected out of the show. I agree with whoever said that they can't all be winners.

I find myself pausing a lot these days to be sure I'm not about to have a Keep It Real moment.

Loved the game show. That poor Korean guy...

I didn't really care for any of it.

The best part of the keepin' it real skit is the narrator. I crack up every time he talks.

I watched it again at 12:30 and figured out what I didn't like about the "keepin it real".

It was the acting. Any sketch that dave isn't in is severely lacking. The premise had potential, but the delivery was terrible on all parts.

Just my opinion, of course.

I wouldnt say he needs a big comeback next week. Last weeks show was great and Dave's entire season has been awesome so far. Hes entitled to some flops here and there like this weeks epsiode.

Worst episode of Chappell show ever, but it didn't bother me much. I dunno if i laughed more than once during this one, but considering all the great sketches he has during his 2 seasons, no biggie.

Chapelle's Show is weird. There are laugh out loud moments that you'll still be laughing about weeks later (I'm Rick James B*tch!, Yeeeaaah!, OoooKaaaay!) and then there's crap. I personally don't think there has been a quality episode since the Rick james ep.

i liked the game show. but i do agree, the skits with dave in them tend to be a lot better.

with him as the host of the game show, he was able to control the flow.

Satisfying if only to learn what that lyric in Good Times was. I could never figure that out.

I loved that one Q&A.
Q: What's the best thing black people can do to help themselves?
A: Get out and vote.
WRONG!!!!

It sucked. The keep it real was funny but the game show was stupid. They need Charlie Murphy next week not the same re-hashed crap of the past two episodes.

Hmmm...I thought the answer was "Pimpin' ain't easy, but it's necessary. So I chase bitches like Tom chased Jerry."

The voting line was fabulous.

Plus

"Why do black people distrust Ronald Reagan?"
Barber - "Because he wasnt to be trusted in the first place"

Why do black people smoke menthols?
HS kid - Because thats what Newsports is.

What is a loosie?
Writer - oral sex?
That is incorrect...but we should start calling it that

What is a chickenhead?
Barber - Its a bird that you take home and wear out
Correct...thats what it is, and how you use it.
