Anyone have problems with Duraband HT-400 Home Theatre System

I got a really inexpensive Home Theatre system at Walmart for only $80. It is Duraband HT-400. It enables you to decode 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround.
I have nocticed 2 things,.sometimes th esync seems to be off and other times I get a bunch of wavy lines ghosting through the screen. I know this is being caused by the HT-400 B/c when I turn it off the ghosting disappears.

can you explain exactly what you expected from $80?

My guess is that the speakers aren't shielded properly, and that's what's causing the wavy lines.

Probably wasn't expecting a rude response.

Anyways, Josh is probably on the money. Relatively inexpensive speakers don't have the magnetic shielding -- does your TV have distorted purple/green colors when you hold one of those speakers near it?

I also had similar wavy lines when I had my PC hooked up to my receiver -- some RF interference was being picked up and giving distorted images along with a low humming noise.

It's a valid point though.

Clearly there is a shielding problem, but you'll have to trace the source, probably through process of elimination. A few things to try:

--- Like Josh said, these speakers aren't shielded. Try moving them farther away from other components. If that doesn't work:

--- If your DVD player is separate from the surround sound system, try moving the DVD player farther away from the surround sound system. If that doesn't work:

--- Try a better-quality video cable, one with better shielding.

I moved the plug that powers the Home Theatre System to an different outlet than the one that powers everything else,..it is on a different circut. Seems to work ok now,..however there is a slight delay in the audio thus resulting in a slight out of sync issue. I had this issue when it was plugged into the same outlet as everything else.
