Recommendations on Futurama Vol 3?
Hi, I'm a big Simpsons and Family Guy fan and I'm trying to get into Futurama but I'm having some difficulty.
I bought Futurama Season 1 but I don't seem to find it interesting ( I've actually fallen asleep after watching more than 2 episodes in a row , twice, while trying to get through the 1st box)
I was just wondering if Season 2 or Season 3 are the better seasons. (e.g. I like the episode I saw on TV where they eat those popcorn chicken nuggets and it turns out they're an alien species ) but I don't know what season that is in.
Simpsons season 1 wasn't that great but the later seasons are hilarious.
So are Seasons 2 and 3 better than Season 1 of Futurama or just the pretty much same old same old?
And which is better, Season 2 or 3?
Thanks Futurama Fans

This is a tough one... I think Season 2 and 3 are both better than season 1 of Futurama, but I tought season 1 was brilliant. If you've tried to watch a few episodes but just can't get into it, I don't know if I'd recommend further seasons..... I love the show and find it to be hilarious and smart, but it's been like that since episode 1 and just continues to build (well...I didn't see the final season, since I could never find it on tv....)
So if you're feeling adventurous, maybe, but from what you've said, you'll probably just want to skip it.

Hmm... Although Season 2 and 3 of Futurama are better than Season 1 in my opinion, it is nowhere near the leap that the Simpsons made from Season 1 to Season 2 to Season 3.
Chances are if you can't watch episodes from the 1st Season, it just isn't your kind of show.
I think 3 is better than 2 or 1, but both 2 and 1 definitely have some keepers. Love's LAbor's Lost in Space is great from the 1st Season, and Fry & The Slurm Factory from Season 2 is one of my favorites of the entire series.

Season 3 I think is the best out of all of them... now I havent seen all of Season 4 yet, not until it comes out.
Problem is, if you cant get into Season 1 then I dont see how you could like the show.
That's my thread response!*
*Fans of that episode will get that joke.

I love the Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park; but I could just never really get into Futurama. With all of these great sets coming out, I'm really trying to like it, I guess it's just not my thing. Perhaps S3 will have some episodes that will win me over like people above have said.

So you didn't like any of the episodes from Season 1? How about "I, Roomate", "A Fishful of Dollars", or "Fry & the Slurm Factory"? These episodes are some of the all time classics among many Futurama fans.
Also the episode you mentioned about the popcorn chicken nugget aliens is called "The Problem with Popplers" and it appears on the Season 2 DVD set.
