Quark's mom dies of cancer (RIP Cecily Adams)
Haven't seen this posted yet. Cecily Adams, the actress who played Quark's mom on DS9 and the daughter of Get Smart's Don Adams, died this week of cancer at 39.
RIP Moogie!
LOS ANGELES - Cecily Adams, an actress, casting director and the daughter of "Get Smart" television star Don Adams, has died of cancer, her agent said Thursday. She was 39.
Adams died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital, five months after being diagnosed with lung cancer, said agent Bruce Tufeld. Her husband, actor Jim Beaver, was with her.
"She was a lovely, lovely girl," Tufeld said. "We were all destroyed by it."
Adams appeared in the 1990s syndicated series "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" as the character Ishka and has guest roles in a variety of TV shows including "Just Shoot Me," "Murphy Brown" and "Party of Five."
She concentrated on casting in recent years and "was great with actors because she was an actor," Tufeld said. She was working on Fox's "That '70s Show" at the time of her death.
"She was a fighter. She worked up until the end," Tufeld said.
Adams was born in Queens, N.Y. Her mother, Adelaide Adams, was a singer. Don Adams gained fame as bumbling agent Maxwell Smart in the 1960s spy spoof "Get Smart."
Cecily Adams married Jim Beaver, a TV and film actor whose credits include "The Life of David Gale" and the upcoming HBO series "Deadwood," in 1989. The couple had a daughter, Maddie, now 2.
Cecily Adams also is survived by her parents and siblings, Tufeld said.
A Catholic Mass open to family and friends was to be held Friday, with a memorial service expected within a week or two, he said.

Once again, CANCER has taken it's toll. How heartbreaking it must be to bury your daughter.
