Larry Cohen Fans: Special Effects & Perfect Strangers coming in june!
Two of larry's mid 80's efforts,
Special Effects
Perfect Strangers
both are getting the dvd treatment by MGM to be released on June 15th. Word has it they will each have larry cohen commentaries.
I am a big fan of his films. These 2 are considered to be some of his least known so it's nice to see they weren't forgotten.
I enjoy his commentaries very much since he's so full of insight and stories about the filming of the movie.
Can't wait.

This is great news. I really enjoyed Blue Underground's three Cohen films from last August. Both of the films you mentioned are offbeat and interesting, so I would buy them. Do you have a source for this information?

Someone from mgm who I consider a reliable source.
That is except for promising me that wild at heart would be released by them in 2003. Won't forgive that person for that.

Very Good news! I've seen SPECIAL EFFECTS but not PERFECT STRANGERS. Is that one of his better efforts?
Any news on the IT'S ALIVE trilogy? I seem to recall an announcement last year sometime, but does anyone have some updated info on the status / release date?

I have not seen either film,so will most likely pick them up,being a fan of Cohen & all
Its Alive trilogy are being released later this year from Warner. part 1 at least may have a commentary, not sure about the sequels. I can't wait for that set
I still have'nt gotten around to picking up the BU dvds, nor have I seen Bone before. I plan on getting those sometime, when I have some cash. Been really broke this past year. But then again,I could try buying them all at once after saving up & have a Cohen fest

it seems according to dvdempire, there wount be a commentary! i really wish BU released it, for they would have done those titles justice. MGM just shows no care for these great films. which is why i wount hold my breath on WB's release of IT';S ALIVE, hopefully BU can lease it away from WB.
