Need help identifying this old kids TV show.
I remember I used to watch this one when I was young back in the 80s.
All I can remember is a puppet named Sam, a guy who would turn into a statue when his beret came off and a lady with an afro. And I think they ran a toy store or something.
Thanks

Yeah, remember when Nickelodeon used to have great shows with humans? I'm 21 and don't watch the channel much anymore, except for reruns on nick-at-nite, but it looks like the daytime stuff is 99% cartoons. I used to love these live-action shows from the 80s through the early-mid 90s:
You Can't Do That on Television
Hey Dude
Don't Just Sit There
Salute Your Shorts
Clarissa Explains It All
Are You Afraid of the Dark
Double Dare
Wild and Crazy Kids
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Finders Keepers
Make The Grade
Welcome Freshmen
Today's Special
even Mr. Wizard's World
I also loved the classic b&w shows they reran like Lassie and Denace the Menace. I also loved the goofy fun of The Monkees. Plus tons of great animated stuff, like Muppet Babies, Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff, and of course Looney Tunes.
Nick was truly a godsend for children's television. As much as i liked them, there's only so much Mister Rogers and Sesame Street I could have taken.

Nick during the day is pretty much aimed at younger kids (<8 yrs old). I think that's always pretty much been the case. In the afternoon and evenings they start to get into the preteen set more. I think they mostly cut down on the Canadian-produced and low-level shows they had before, and they do their own shows now. I do miss the corny programs they had on before though.

I always joked that if Jeff and Jodie ever gave into their feelings and started to go at it... it would be funny if he dropped trou and screamed since he was really was a mannequin and had no... uh... equipment.

You were one screwed up child.
That's more exclusive to those living in the Atlantic regions... the other areas have their own unique accents, some matching close to those in the US state next to them.
I'l bet now if I saw one I would pick up a lot of "a-boot"s
