When people hit the 'new thread' button, can they get a big warning message that says 'Before you post this new thread, have you done a thorough search of the forum to make sure the info you're seeking is not already here?' or something similar?
I'm serious. I get so tired of seeing the same subjects posted over and over. If this warning was there, and you had to hit a 'I swear I did a search' button to get by this screen and actually post a new thread, we could save a lot of bandwidth/frustration/duplication.

No, that would get annoying very quickly. Most posts here aren't duplicates.
However, I absolutley dispise web sites that force a review of your post befor eyou are allowed to post it. I can't begin to count the number of lengthy posts I've lost because I hit post and closed the window, only to remember there is a mandatory review before it actually posts.

I'm rooting on Trevor's post being facetious.

Really? I see people complain/point out duplicate threads all the time.

No, he was joking. It was a link to this thread. I fell for it.

That would be great to have but I wonder how often it would be used.
Searching for info and not using question marks when asking a question are my two biggest problems on this board. I'd love to see the above added just to test it a bit and see if it would make any impact at all.
