Top Gun Re-Release?

Are they re-doing Top Gun? I thought I remember reading something about it but I can't find anything in search due to the word length

Thanks,

"top* gun* dvd*"

You get more than you're looking for, but it's better than getting nothing at all.

Note: Well, that search times out when you run it. But using the "*" does work when you have a 3-letter search.

I read at a different forum that the R2 has been announced by paramount for october 04, so the r1 will be out either sooner or same date. No sign of days of thunder re-release though

If they only did it right in the first place. Seems like we'll be double dipping forever.

But, mastering and authoring has improved a lot since 1998.

Regarding double-dipping, Paramount has been very good at having a limited amount of re-releases. I actually wish they would re-release some titles, making them anamorphic.

like Mission Impossible 1 anamorphic would be nice... & some features & DTS would make the Gods smile too

I'll be picking this one up. Now, if they'd just re-release Event Horizon uncut with anamorphic transfer...

FYI...

From Home Theate Forum...the R2 TOP GUN: SE has a release date of November 1st.

So we can expect ours to be around that time...probably a little ahead.
