I am thinking about buying a Tivo or Replay TV. Once you have a show recorded on either of these, can you then send the output to a dvd stand alone dvd recorder? I don't want to have to send it to a pc to record. I just want to know if i can select a bunch of shows, "push play", and "push record on the dvd recorder"

- I know with the pioneer 810H you can do this, at speeds faster then real time. Anybody have any experience with this unit.
I would actually prefer a seperate PVR and dvd recorder then a combo unit. But the pioneer unit seems like a good deal. I have found it price around $600 which seems like a good deal. The only down side i see to the pioneer is that is doesn't have a firewire input to record from digital video cameras, you would have to use s-video

Thanks in advace for your input

The short answer is: Yes, you can do this.

Tivo/Replay output to DVD Recorder input. Record. Easy-Peasy.

You can do this, but with TiVo it's only one show at a time. I'm not sure about Replay.

Thanks for the answers. If it is very easy to do, is there any advantage to the Pioneer 810H combo unit?

The only one i see is that shows can be transfered from hard drive to disc much quicker than real time

- I assume with Tivo/Replay it has to be done in real time?
