I figured I never had it right since I do not know much about receiver settings, etc.

Receiver: Sherwood RD6108

Center Speaker: Sony SS-CN550H

Front Speakers: SS-MB150H Book Shelf Speaker

Rear Speakers: The same as Front Speakers, I bought 2 pairs when they were on sale some time last year.

This is not a very expensive or quality system, but I want to get what I can out of it, when listening to music, what settings should I use? Dolby Pro Logic Music? Dolby Digital? Normal Stereo? The Preset EQ's [Church, Hall, Theatre, Stadium, etc]? How much treble? How much bass?

Everything is hooked up with RCA [Red, White, Yellow] cords, so no fancy connections either...

You don't say what your source is, but if you have a DVD player you should be using a digital connection to the receiver, either optical or coaxial. Otherwise you aren't getting Dolby Digital or DTS, so what's the point in having that receiver?

As far as music is concerned, my own preference is to stay way away from any of the gimmicky settings like church, hall, etc., and go with straight stereo.
