Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears on DVD (2/24/04)

This former Soviet Union film is the 1980 Oscar best foreign language film. I just found out its DVD was released first time in US on Feb 24, 2004. However, the production company, Kino, is an unknown to me. Besides, the DVD price is over $20. I really like the movie but I don't know if the tranfer of this DVD is good enough, and I don't think there are any bonus materials in the DVD. One more thing to add, the DVD is full screen.

Any comments?

Hello,

"DVD was released first time in US on Feb 24, 2004"

Not true.

DVD Release Date in USA: September 4, 2001

I owned this title for almost two years (Kino release) and The PQ and Sound are good (considering the age of the film and made in the old Soviet Union) plus 13 subtitles and a fair amount of extras are also included (Interviews with the cast, etc...)

Ruscico also release this title in the 1st Quarter of 2001. Check this link.

I think that the intended Asp. Ratio of the movie is 1.33:1 (Full Screen) and so the DVD. I bought it for $24.99 @ amazon.com

If you like the movie, buy it.

Hope this help.

Sorry about the reposting. I indeed did a search before I posted it. Unfortunately, I didn't find the original thread.
