Speaker wire question

I'm currently wiring my living room for surround sound with 2 more speakers going to my dining room and i have a question. I bought speaker wire ($15 for 100') they had available at Home Depot. This is not as thick as the Monster (?) cable speaker wire i was sold ($50 for 50') when i first bought my HT equipment. Should i use the more expensive speaker cable. I'm not going to have highend speakers, nor do i consider myself an audiophile, is the more thicker wire better? This is what will be used with the rear speakers.

Thanks
