Any idea about The Brady Bunch being released?

I see that Paramount in releasing "The Brady Bunch In The White House" and "Growing Up Brady" in May. How could the studio release this garbage, while keeping the classic series in the vaults?

I just don't understand what Paramount is thinking here....

I too hope the original series gets a release. This will totally bring in the money for Paramount.

When it comes to TV shows on DVD, I think of Paramount as being in the same place now that Fox was developmentally about five years ago. About five years ago, when there wasn't much out for TV shows, X Files came out. Then Fox saw they could do well with TV shows on DVD, and began to test the market with other shows, eventually learning they were sitting on a goldmine in their television vaults, and now they are one of the leaders in TV shows on DVD.

Well, I think Parmaount is still in the testing the market stage. They thought for a time that Star Trek was the main thing they could sell, but since then have tested the market with CSI and Cheers and Frasier. Those have done well. Now they are again testing new demographics with Chapelle Show, which is doing phenomonally well, way above their expectations. I think give them just a little more time and they will see the value of the shows they have in their vault and we will get more and more. After all, if we can get season sets of animation from WB, anything is possible!

Amazon now has a sign-up for the release of the original series.

At least it's a start....

I thought for sure that Paramount would get the hint from Warner Bros that vintage TV is the way to go after the sucessful Gilligan's Island release.

Pretty much the same customer base for these two shows.

I'm not too worried though. I'm sure TBB will be forthcoming. It ill definately pick it up when it does come.

Let's just hope they don't release it like they did Star Trek: TOS or I Love Lucy.
