First PSP screen shot in new EGM

This months EGM has what they say is the first screen shot for a PSP game which is tentatively called The Lord Of The Rings: Mordor GP. It's a cart racing game. When I first saw it, I got excited because the graphics look incredible, but then I noticed I was reading the April issue of EGM. They are known for thier little April Fool's jokes. Looks like this may be it for this year since this shot has not made it to any web sites I know of yet. FOr those who have seen it, what do you think?

I have't seen the 'screenshot', but I love it! EGM always pulls great April fools jokes! "Mordor GP", what a clever name!

Yep. They've been donig this for a long time. The first one I remember was unlocking Sheng Long in Street Fighter 2 for SNES.

Calm down... who in their right mind would let that kind of thing happen?

Here's a very low quality scan of the shot for you haven't seen it.

Thanks for the link!

Glad to hear they're also making one based on the book license too... hopefully it will be more accurate!

The Total Time in the screen shot says 4.01.04, or April 1st, 2004.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if this had been real.

Almost better than the concept of LOTR Kart racing itself, is the last paragraph:

In a related note, VU Games has announced that it too is making a kart racer for Rings, based on the book license, for release around the same time.

I'm not really into racing games so I don't get what's so funny about the "GP" at the end of the title.

It's not the GP part that makes it funny. There is a racing game series called Moto GP. Where as the title of this "game" is Mordor GP. That alone makes it pretty obvious it's fake.

They did a pretty good job with that screenshot. It looks good and it got lots of people to believe it was real.

Ohhh.

Thanks noonan4224 and PixyJunket. I guess I wasn't exagerating when I said I'm not really into racing games.

Aww you were supposed to post this news as real news. Then it would have got everyone freaked out saying "they ruined LOTR!" and others saying "PSP will own GBA! look at those graph-X!!"

I think we are ignoring the larger issue. Which is that it is February 25 and he is receiving the April issue of a magazine.
