Article on Top 10 cancelled shows
Y'all might find this MSN article on the Top 10 cancelled TV shows interesting.
One nitpick about something the writer got wrong: Sports Night started out with the laugh track and then ditched it.
I agree with his inclusions, but I'd add The Critic, Get a Life, and Mystery Science Theater 3000 (although the latter did have a long run). Man, do I want Undeclared on DVD.

While it was sad that Mystery Science Theater 3000 was cancelled, I can see why the author didn't include it. The show ran for many seasons and the show was running out of steam. I'm sure it still could've lived on for an additional great season or two, but I'd rather have it off the air then slowly turning into complete crap (*cough*The Simpsons*cough).
I do agree with your choices on The Critic and Get a Life, and I'd also throw in my own with Off Centre, but my friends and I were the only people who watched and loved that show.
Oh, and can't forget Clerks: The Animated Series.

Yep, I have to agree w/ Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared, Firefly and Sports Night. He also added Andy Richter Controls the Universe, but didn't put it into his top ten.
I would have added (that I can remember):
Keen Eddie
Boomtown
Karen Sisco

I miss "Newsradio", but I miss Phil Hartman even more. That still depresses me...
I agree with "MST3K" and "The Critic", gone way too soon. Sure, "MST3K" had been on for a decade plus, but who cares? That show could've run forever for all I care.
And I'll be a sad sad little boy when "The Simpsons" finally ends, though it'll probably be years before that happens.

I'm still pissed that Fox cancelled that Pauly Shore show back in the late 90's. *******s!
I don't watch most of those shows, but I'd think Futurama should be on there.

Pretty good list. His "Also Robbed" list sucks though. I would have done an honorable mention list for shows that were cancelled the first month they were on. A list off the top of my head for really short-lived shows:
1. Police Squad
2. Clerks: TAS
3. EZ Streets
4. Harsh Realm
5. Wonderland
6. As If
Also, MSCL should be number 1 and like Freaks and Geeks/Undeclared, it should be combined with the 3 other Herskovitz/Zwick shows: Thirtysomething/Relativity/Once and Again.
The show I have the biggest problem being on there is Homicide. It had run it's course by the time it was cancelled. It could've kept going, but I seriously doubt it would've been that good. If Oz could've gone down in quality so much after only it's second season, imagine how bad Homicide would've been if it had been on at the same time.

Something else I just noticed, that I've seen other people say is Family Guy is probably the only show to get renewed after it was cancelled. Not only is it not the only show to get renewed years after it was cancelled, it's not the only show on Adult Swim to get renewed after it was cancelled. Nobody seems to know that Home Movies was on UPN first. Also, Family Guy was cancelled 3 times. Every year it was on, it was cancelled and Fox would decide to bring it back later. Now that, OTOH, has to be some kind of record.

wow, reading that list made me mad all over again. i still can't believe freaks and geeks never made it past one season. on the one hand, i want the dvds and will get them because of how good it was, but it burns me that i don't get to see these people grow up at least for a few more years of high school. it was brilliant.
i was finishing college when MSCL came out and, wow, i didn't even remember it was ever on abc, i only remember it from mtv. mtv was prettty good still back then.
newsradio is my favorite sitcom, but after phil was gone the show really was never as good as it had been and was sometimes awful.
add Ed to the list soon. i know, it's not brilliant like some of the other shows and it's made it 4 seasons, but it's still a very sweet and charming show, with better writing than most shows and it's not about the police or crimes and it's not a reality show. it should get a season 5. but it won't.
