Starsky and Hutch television series on DVD

I have waited so long for this series to come out on DVD. I looked at an S&H website and they said the first season is coming out on March 2nd. Has anyone found about it, and has the release date changed. This is one of my favorite shows of the 70's (I was born in 71)

I've had 3/2 circled for this DVD for a while now. Amazon shows 3/2 as well, so I hope my local B&M will have it.

My fav 70's Cop Show as well! Even drove a Torino in the early 80's. Can't wait!

I hope they're not just releasing the TV sets to take advantage of the movie tie-in, like they did with SWAT. Anyone here info on S2 of that series or is it off the plate once the movie interest dies off? I'll wait to see if they plan to continue these series, before I end up with a bunch of S1 only sets.

Well, I think it's obvious they are tying it into the movie, but better with the movie than another time when the market interest for it may not be that great. If it sells well enough, that will guarantee if a season two will come out.

I think a better question is who is the studio putting it out? If it's Universal, then we very well may not see a season two on either show, as they have a horrible habit of putting out a ton of shows with no committment to follow thru with the rest of the series. For example, I am still waiting on All in the Family season three!

That's not Universal, it's Columbia Tri-Star, who's also releasing Starsky & Hutch.

Columbia TriStar is pretty good with following through on subsequent seasons. Now if they'd just work a little harder on their extra features for said sets.

I wish they were better about following through on the ones I'm interested in. I'm still waiting for season 3 of The Jeffersons and Mad About You.

Yeah, Columbia Tri Star. I don't think they are really good in following up wiith subsequent sets. If they do release them, there is always a long wait. I'd rather see them scale back their scope on TV shows on DVD and focus a little better on the product they have put out and follow up better.

Speaking of which, is there any plans for SWAT season two? And how many seasons did Starsky and Hutch run?

That's the question I asked re: SWAT. S1 came out last June and I haven't heard a peep yet. But we're getting Starsky & Hutch (there were four saesons by the way), What's Happening! & Party of Five now. What about continuing their current sets???
