Straight Plan for the Gay Man ~ 02.23.04 Episode 1

t-minus 15 minutes...

Pretty good write up in the NYTimes today. I can't remember my login info so I can't post the text, maybe someone else will.

Spooky...it was almost like Walken doing a parody.

Pretty funny show. I'll watch next week.

It looked like one big commercial for Labatt Blue and Dodge.

I probably won't watch again. It had a few laughs, but I think a half hour show might have been a better bet.

They really exaggerate the negative straight male stereotypes on this show (beer guzzling, plaid flannel clothes, gun shooting, tacky home decor, bad hygiene). Don't get me wrong, it was funny. I laughed throughout the show. However I was a little put off by the hyperbole.

I liked how he conveniently found a Labatt Blue box and all those empty cans in the trash. Riiiiiiight.

Agreed. I won't go out of my way to watch this again. I also laughed at several parts, but an hour is way too long for this.

And there's no way that guy fired a .44 Magnum with no kick. His ass would have been on the ground.

I couldn't see those papers move so perhaps they were all firing blanks.

Wonder when this show will get cut. Most comedy central shows do have short shelf life.

Well, they have been using product placement since Pepsi Cola started it in the 60's.

Good idea for a show, poor execution. Imagine how funny a show like that could be with a funnier / more talented group (Jimmy Kimmel, Chris Rock, Coolio, etc)

Agreed. I found myself feeling bored throughout the show. I might give it one more episode, because my gf seems to like it.
