I've looked in the main thread at the top for the answer, but didn't really find what I was looking for. I was just wondering what program(s) you guys use to make your covers. I looked at coverxp and cover maestro, but they didn't seem to have that many options. Did you make the actual pictures in another program and put them on the insert using one of those programs? I tried fooling around a little in those programs, and I can't imagine how you would have used those programs alone.
thanks

You need a good image editing program like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or Corel.

Well, i have photoshop. But that is a pixel based program, so won't the final product look pixelated? I tried printing something out from photoshop on my printer, and it looked like poop.
thanks

Um...
Yer doin' it wrong then chief!
Photoshop is the premier image editor and many professionals swear by it (not at it!) I suggest you pick up one of the many Photoshop tutorial books and give it some time and patience. Start with the basics, then you can improve your skills from there.

I agree with Ric, you need to learn photoshop before you try to make covers.
