DVD Talk review of 'Flesh + Blood'

I read DVD Savant's DVD review of Flesh + Blood at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=9533 and... it seems like you hated it. Why did you give it 3 1/2 stars?

Flesh + Blood Love + Hate

I never said I hated it, just that it was tasteless and sometimes pointless. People who want to see a gory action picture that's nice and crude will probably think it's fine.

It's DVD Talk and other sites that impose the ratings ... I just fill them in as best I can without being too prejudicial ...

I remember what people say about pictures, not what they 'rate' them ...

Thanks for the comment , I'll try and be more thoughtful about this. GE

I was just curious because I didn't get the impression that there were any redeeming qualities from your review, other than the transfer.

I did see this film over 10yrs ago on HBO and remember being shocked by it. Sort of like a car accident- I just couldn't look away.

Great film to watch as an antidote to, say, Heath Ledger romping about bravely in medieval garb. Not that there's anything wrong with Mr. Ledger, mind you. Just saying.

Fascinating and unusual film - and I loved the Verhoeven commentary.

I actually like this movie, but you can't pay too close attention because the dialogue is really stupid.
