bad group so far tonight.
What's funny is the first guy (who I am/was rooting for) was the best so far and that only got a "3 out of 10" from Simon.
The others were all below the scale.
Last week there were a couple that should be there before any of these (so far) tonight.

Geez all of the people sucked BAD. The last one, the girl from Hawaii, probably was the best but she couldn't touch half the people last week -- including Katie .

By the way...wasn't it comments like these at the end of the show that ruined it for some people last season? The little scripts that they gave to people?

I don't know what scripts you are talking about, but everyone tonight has deserved the harsh words they received. So far it's probably Camile (she was ok, not good) and Lisa. I am hoping for big things from Marisa.

All the little scripted stuff they have. Not the comments from the judge. The interactions that they have with Ryan that really did get a few people kicked off last season because it made at least one of the girls appear to hold a grudge against Simon.

I think if Matt had gone later he would have gotten a more favorable reaction from the judges. I still liked his performance. I'd pick him as my #2, the red head as my first choice. Of course, I don't care enough to pick up the phone.

yeah Matt's "script" hurt him (it happened to a girl last season, forget which one).
At first I thought he was just being rude, which shocked me, I liked him up to that point. However, I realized it was "scripted and he was asked to say that" after the bloody Simon head on the Simpsons.
Too bad....................
If I had to choose two tonight it would be the last girl that went and the girl that Simon told needed to lose weight.
I'd take Matt 3rd.
I didn't care for the Hawaii girl this time around.

I thought that Matt guy's performance reminded me of a lounge singer. He has a good voice, but I'm not sure if it was the song or the delivery that just seemed cheesy to me.
Brianna- her voice does not match her "look". Very strange. She has this soft, feminine voice, but she looks so butch.
Those two brothers were so horrible. Both of them acted like they would have rather been anywhere than on stage. They both reminded me of someone who got put up to sing karaoke, but is just going through the motions until the song is over. You could tell neither one had a strong voice-- both seemed to gloss over the high notes and sing everything too mid-range. Hopefully neither of these clowns will make it through based on girls voting because they are "cute".
I think I liked Lisa "Loobner" the best. (Everytime they say her name I think of the SNL character.) She has a strong voice and also seemed the most confident. We were laughing at her "car mechanic"-looking dad. He looked like he was dressed up for the first time since his high school prom and it looked like he was probably wearing the same suit (it looked like a 70s ish tux).
That Hawaiian chick had such a pained look on her face the whole time, it was really distracting. She either looked like she was constipated or crying.
I was also glad that Randy commented on Marisa Joy's weird posture. That stance she had looked like she was squatting to take a pee the whole time. I'm not crazy about her voice or singing style, but she was one of the few that showed any confidence. She reminded me of Nikki McKibbin, but not quite as annoying.
I must say, I must be extremely out of it as far as pop music is concerned, because I barely recognized any of those songs. It seemed like they must have been recent hits or something. I was surprised no one chose anything more classic or older. I think it was another reason this group was so lackluster. The song choices were pretty boring, and of you are only doing a recent hit you are just going to be compared to the person who just had a hit with it. I think it is more fun for the audience to hear a new version of a song that is 15 or 20+ years old.

I only saw the last two girls. Camille, the girl from Hawaii, had a nice voice. I didn't see her first performance when the judges compared her to a hip young Lauryn Hill. She was definitely cute. I hope she makes it to the next round. The song was OK.
I saw the recap at the end and two of the guys were really bad.

When I saw the first of the two brothers I thuoght he threw the competition so his older brother could go on and they wouldn't be competing against each other anymore. But then I saw "Jesus" perform and was floored. What the hell happened to these two guys. They sang great when they audtioned in NYC. It seemed like they just gave up.

Man, this grouping was horrendous. I think the Hawaiian chick was the best, followed by the red haired girl and then the black haired girl at the end.
