Official Nintendo GC 251 Memory Card $9.99

TRU B&M has these on a promo but you don't have to buy anything else. It will scan for $19.99 but final subtotal will be $9.99. Good time to stock up on memory cards.

It's still $24.99 at amazon.com.

I don't get it. They ring up for $19.99 but the final price will be 9.99? What is the original promo?

Anyone confirm this? I would pick up another memory card if this is true. At the rate I am buying/renting games I have 100 blocks left on the memory card I got for xmas.

I hate the ToysRus managers in my town, they seem to make you jump through hoops for any sort of deal, and don't wanna go through the hassle unless its a gaurantee.

Update, it worked. The clerk scanned it and it said $19.99 on the display, then he said, "oh, these are on sale this week." He then told me the total was $10.80 after tax.

This worked fine at the Toys R Us by Paradise valley mall in Arizona.

Yeah, this is legit - just got back from TRU a few minutes ago. Don't know how long the deal lasts though.

Hmmm, didn't work for me. THe memory card was listed at 24.99 and scanned at 24.99. Did they have to enter the price manually or what? Where is this sale listed?

i actually asked how i could tell other people about the sale and Rob didn't have an answer. sorry.... so i said, i'll just have them ask for you, Rob, and he laughed.

as for the listed price, your TRU said $24.99? the tag on the shelves said $19.99 here. i would think that that would be national. weird.

There are 2 different numbers for these...

Nintendo recently redesigned the Memory Card package. The package that is really big and has been out ever since the 251 memory card has been out is still $24.99 and will ring up at this price without a discount.

The new memory card package for the 251 is much smaller(similar to the PS2 memory card packaging in size), and is under a different SKN number. Only this memory card will ring up $9.99. That's why you couldn't get one at the cheap price.

Mine doesn't let you pick out the memory card itself just a tag that you bring to the register.

I bought two of them. The package is a blister pack with a paper backing. The older packaging is all blister packed.

Thanks to the OP! Now I don't have to worry about the four cents at Best Buy.

The old packaging looks like this:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...A3UN6WX5RRO2AG

The new one like this:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...A3UN6WX5RRO2AG

If those links don't work, just go to toysrus.com and type these SKN numbers in the search box: 580247 for the old memory card and 947639 for the new packaging.

Since you have a TRU store that still does tickets, see if you can bring the ticket up to them and ask to look at the package. Some stores are slow and never update the tickets, so they may actually have the incorrect tickets out. All TRUs were supposed to have the new packaging memory cards overnighted to them last week. Good luck.

I remember the SKN numbers were 580247 on the ticket I brought up, maybe I will have to go through the tickets to see if they have any for 947639. They probably just haven't updated it, I will see if its worth the hassle of getting them to bring out a package.

Dublin California worked, I picked up 2 of them. Weirdest sale I've ever seen, they had none on the floor (no tickets either). Had some in the cabinet and they scanned at $19.99 but subtotalled at $9.99. Not advertised anywhere and even the salesguy said he found out on the net, and he's the one ringing the things up!

Thanks for the post, I needed these! I also picked up the Pokemon Bonus disc and preordered the new Pokemon Colliseum.

Well I can confirm this. Went to a different ToysRus cause the one close to me uses tags, and the tags have the old SKN number. I had a road trip to make this weekend so I stopped at a ToysRus along the way. It initially rang up as 19.99 but when he said the total it was 10.71 (w/ tax). Great deal.

Very strange sale by the way.

Thanks to the OP! I stopped by the TRU off the 78 in Oceanside on my way home from work last night. Picked up 2 of them.

When I mentioned to the salesperson that there was a deal on these he said, "No, but there is a bundle deal on those cards." (pointing to a 3rd party mem card).

I asked him to ring them up anyway, and the salesguy's eyes got as big as saucers when they came up at $9.99. He jumped on the radio to tell all his buddies. Hopefully there are still a few left today. You could see the wheels turning as he thought about employee discounts...

This deal is deader than Elvis.
How nice was it to wait ten minutes in line only to see it ring up as $19.99.
The drone behind the counter said it would be $24.99 and he said $19.99 was a deal (this is the new packaging).

All those that got in on this, good for you.

I'm guessing it was some screwed up promotion.

Doug

I think you just lucked out. The sale must have ended Saturday because like Doug Schiller I went to two TRU's and they rang up at $19.99.

It likely did end on Saturday (who knows) but you should know that they rang up at $19.99 last week also, but the subtotal gives a discount and they end up at $9.99. It's not obvious and the sales guy had to look closely to catch it. Since it wasn't advertised and not even the salespeople knew about it there is no telling when it wll end.
