I went to Circuit City tonight, and they had signs posted, saying that there was an advertising error, and Dickie Roberts was only available in FS. Is that right?

This happened with Under the Tuscan Sun too (at least at my local store). I find it very strange.
But yes, there is a Widescreen version.

I saw the same sign at my CC. I didn't actually check to see if they had it in WS or not. Best Buy had both versions.

Borders has Dickie Roberts in widescreen, but it's got Tuscan Sun in fullscreen only.

My wife purchased Under the Tuscan Sun in WS at Wal-Mart.

Circuit City does that surprisingly often for a major store. I was there to get 'Animal House' and didn't even notice until I got home that it was fullscreen, just because I didn't even know the disc had been put out in fullscreen (I assumed that a movie that short, they'd fit both versions on the same disc).
But I've noticed that, quite often, especially among comedies, Circuit City will not carry widescreen versions, or will take much longer to start carrying them (I'm pretty sure there's a widescreen 'Animal House' there *now*).

Wal*mart by me had it in FS and WS. Watched it last night, I liked it! Not bad but not great.
