which movies will never be remade?

I'll say Citizen Kane, Star Wars, the Godfathers, the Matrix, 2001 (or at least, i hope).

I'd rather see bad movies get remade than good ones honestly.
At least they could try to improve them.
Why mess with a good thing like casablanca, citizen kane, etc?

Blazing Saddles is the most un-remake-able movie ever.

I'd say Dawn of the Dead, The Italian Job, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

In this day and age, I'd say no film is untouchable. If there's a profit to be made, then the studios will do it. And the sad part is, they will "beef" them up. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rick single-handedly defeat the Nazis in a Casablanca remake.

Agreed. After Soderbergh remade Solaris, I felt that there is no movie that could remain untouched.

That being said, how about Abbot And Costello Meet Frankenstein?

It will be redone someday, guaranteeed. It may take awhile, at least 40-50 years, but it will be remade for future generations.

One movie I'd like to see redone, but probably never will be is Them.

I love the original, but a new approach with a similar theme could be great. Of course, I can always pop in Aliens to see this on screen, but I want real ants dammit.

I bet Pixy knew that, since just about every Kurosawa film has been remade, some numerous times.
