Fox: Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee 2/13

Saw in the listings tonight that Fox is airing the Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee. I thought it sounded like it might be interesting, so I checked the description:

"Competitors include Brett Butler; George Wendt; Alice Cooper; Harry Anderson; Eric Roberts; Meshach Taylor; Corbin Bernsen; Erin Brodie. Host: John O'Hurley. (2004)"

Who finds these people? I have no interest in seeing any of those "celebrities" doing a spelling bee or any other activity. I don't even recognize the names of some of them.

Harry Anderson was the guy from Night Court wasn't he? Who is George Wendt and Erin Brodie? Meschach Taylor sounds familiar but I can't put a name to the face.

Harry Anderson was the judge on "Night Court".

George Wendt was Norm on "Cheers".

Meschach Taylor on the black guy on "Designing Women".

Erin Brodie was the woman who broke Rob's heart in "For Love or Money" and then became the woman looking for love in "For Love or Money II".

I can't believe they are shelving Boston Public for this nonsense. I can see When Animals Attack and Man vs Beast 2, but this?

What a great idea for a show.

I'd rather slam my testicles in a car door than watch this crap.

Even worse, I just saw a Fox promo for some show called "The Littlest Groom" that was like a midget dating show.

I sat there with my mouth agape going "Isn't this a SNL parody of a bad Fox reality series? Are they really serious?"

The FOX reality program I want to see is inspired from a program Homer Simpson watches late at night on his illegal cable tv hookup.

``Live, from New Orleans, this is the World Series of Cock-fighting! Oh, son-o*******un, we'll have big fun on the Bayou tonight.''

Put my money on Wendt. I saw him on "Weakest Link" one time, and the man didn't miss ONE question. He's very, very intelligent.

I'd only watch this if it was Anna Nicole Smith vs. Jessica Simpson.

I'd love to see them come up with mis-spellings of 3 letter words.

Or Dwarf-bowling. That was one of my favorite L.A. Law episodes complete with Mighty Mouth, the fantastic midget lawyer.
