It had some interesting characters, but I didn't really enjoy the book. I didn't expect a coming of age story, I thought it would be more about a Gang. It wasn't badly written, but I didn't really think anything was said in it that wasn't already told in other books.
But did anyone read Clockers? I'm curious about that, but if its about a bunch of chracters and their first time and not an actual crime then Ill skip it.

I really loved Clockers. I picked up a used copy a few months back, thinking I'd like to read it again. I thought the film version was terrible, but remember being completely absorbed in the book.
I've only read one other book by Price. I think it was called Heartland? The one about the woman who claims that her children were abducted by a black man who stole who car. I thought the story was lousy, but it had so many great little character pieces. Where some guy would step out and deliever a big ten page tale about their life or something that happened to them. Terrific character book.
That seems to be what Price excells at, having every charcter, even the minor ones, be as interesting and have as much to inform the story as the "main" characters.

I LOVE "Clockers". Absolutely fabulous novel. I was so sad when I finished it. :(
"Freedomland" was interesting, but not quite as engrossing. Don't have much time to read at all, but would love to read "Samaritan".
