Rumor: CBS is considering Selleck for lead CSI in NYC spin-off

On the Hollywood Report from Mike Evans on the radio this morning (Mix 96.1 in SA), Mike said that CBS is considering Tom Selleck for the role that William Peterson and David Caruso have of lead CSI for their respective cities.

That's okay with me.

On another note, Mike said that Peterson is livid that CBS is doing another spin-off and thinks that the show is already over saturated than it needs to be and having a third city will simply add to it.

I don't mind another CSI and I don't mind Tom Selleck I think he will do a good job but why NY? All of the Law & Orders are in New York and we've had NYPD Blue for years. Why not CSI: Seattle, CSI: San Fran or CSI: DC? I'm just tired of almost every show on tv taking place in NY.

Isn't that what he had to say when CSI: Miami started as well?

As for Selleck, sounds interesting.

I agree with Peterson, we don't need yet another CSI. There is no reason to make three of these, when you could save the stories for one good show. Spreading it out makes no sense, in my opinion.

Ok, lets guess what tint the NY series will have.

CSI - Vegas - blue
CSI - Miami - orange
CSI - New York - green?

BTW, if CSI NY is like Miami then Peterson has nothing to worry about...CSI Vegas is about 1000x better than Miami (the characters are actual characters)

Selleck could be good in a CSI. I wonder who his co-star will be.

I read somewhere that this one was supposed to be totally different as well. It will follow only the main character around. Not a whole team.

Actually they just may do that. The rumor is that they are making a Magnum PI movie, and the writer only wants Tom Selleck. He refuses to write it for another younger actor, as he feels that it's Tom's role to have.

Speaking of Hawaii drama remakes, I would mind seeing a tv remake/revival of the other great Hawaii drama, Hawaii Five-O.

I'm going to have to go with:

C.S.I: Hawaii

I mean come on, you get Tom Sellick and want to put it in New York?

Hawaii gives you gratuitous bikini shots all over the place...I smell hit!

Since a third CSI is basically a go, I think Selleck is a fine choice. I'm still waiting for Sylvester Stallone to have his own show though.

Selleck in C.S.I CANADA....eh??

They guy is too old anyway I would prefer younger unknown faces..I think San Francisco would have nice locations to shoot

Dirty Harry meets The Sreets Of San Francisco

PS What is Peterson whining about. He gets $300/k per episode shut TFU already!!

Um, I think it's obvious it should be called Magnum: CSI. Whatever happens, I think it should be written into Selleck's contract that he has to wear a Detroit Tigers cap.

No cap = no sale
