I tried to type in w w w . dvdpricesearch . com in a post, and it was edited to w w w . dvdtalk . com / price . html.

What is the reasoning behind this?

I understand that you want people to use yours, but it seems kind of cheesy to actually replace the dvdpricesearch url with your own...

Personally, I find pricegrabber to be very bulky and hard to use, especially since I am usually only looking for DVDs.

I imagine probably the same reason ******.com (E B A T E S) is censored. Yep. It still is.

The way price grabber, dvd pricesearch, e bates & dvdtalk all stay in business is through referral shopping. So when you go to dvd pricesearch and look for the dvd you want, if you click through on their links, they get money if you make the purchase - not dvdtalk. I use dvd pricesearch, but then come back to dvdtalk and click through using the links on the SHOP page to help support the site - and if you're going to go through the trouble of switching from site to site, how hard is it to just type in dvd priceseach in the first place?

Running a site like this is not easy or cheap and every little bit helps - by keeping people on his own search engine - pricegrabber, people are more likely to click through and earn money for the site.
