Wendell Mobley and Neil Thrasher co-wrote There Goes My Life

All he could think about was I'm too young for this.
Got my whole life ahead.
Hell I'm just a kid myself.
How'm I gonna raise one.

All he could see were his dreams goin' up in smoke.
So much for ditchin' this town and hangin' out on the coast.
Oh well, those plans are long gone.

And he said,
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
Might as well kiss it all good-bye.
There goes my life.......

A couple years of up all night and a few thousand diapers later.
That mistake he thought he made covers up the refrigerator.
Oh yeah..........he loves that little girl.

Momma's waiting to tuck her in,
As she fumbles up those stairs.
She smiles back at him dragging that teddy bear.
Sleep tight, blue eyes and bouncin' curls.

He smiles.....
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
I love you, daddy good-night.
There goes my life.

She had that Honda loaded down.
With Abercrombie clothes and 15 pairs of shoes and his American Express.
He checked the oil and slammed the hood, said your good to go.
She hugged them both and headed off to the West Coast.

And he cried,
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
I love you.
Baby good-bye.

There goes my life.
There goes my life.
Baby good-bye.

I agree this is a good song and even though Kenny doesn't write many he can sing. His new single is the title track from his new CD which I predict will be overplayed as it's a duet with Uncle Kracker.

I don't have any of Kenny's CDs because they do seem to overplay some of his stuff on the radio. But this song is really good and I think I might have to check out his new CD. Thanks for the info on "There Goes My Life", it is a sad story and kind of inspiring that someone can take something like that and turn it into a song that touches others in a positive way.

One more thing, If you want his new CD may I suggest you getting it at Target if possible. It comes with a bonus 5 song CD for free that has him doing some of his favorite songs including stripped down, but not unplugged versions of:
Keith Whitley's "I Wonder Do You Think of Me"
George Strait's "Marina Del Ray"
both George Jones' and Merle Haggard's "I Always Get Lucky With You"
Jimmy Buffett's "Come Monday"
Bruce Springsteen's "I'm On Fire"
