turned in am 610 wip in philly today and they were talking as if this is floating.

but it doesnt seem like a likely trade for either team.

bad for the sixers because iverson puts tons of people in the seats.
bad for lakers because koby is a much more complete player.

i don't see any upside for the lakers for a possible trade like that.

anyway the host said the sixers would never do it because of the people in the seats factor.

Haven't heard about it, but you're right, it sounds unlikely. Jerry Buss was very adament that he would not trade Kobe this year. Plus, for all the selfishness thats talked about in Kobe's game, Iverson is as bad, if not worse. Although the fact that Kobe is from Philly might mean something.

I don't really think so. Kobe enraged Philly with some comments he made during the Finals and he was booed at the All-Star game in Philly.

I think Kobe and Allen have gone in opposite directions actually. Kobe is becoming more and more selfish while Iverson has really learned to dish the ball and be more of a "team" player, sadly his team sucks so it's tough to do that.

Even so, I doubt this trade is legit.

they actually said bryant told the lakers that he would allow to be traded to 3 teams sixers, knicks and i think the other team was memphis.
i could be wrong about the memphis i was only listening with 1 ear.

WIP is full of shit anyway....take their stuff with a grain of salt. Especially Howard Eskin...he is something else.

If Kobe were to leave the Lakers, I believe Memphis would be his first choice because Jerry West is there. If not, Philly is always a possibility because of him being born there. I'd also think that he'd want to play for a team like the Mavs, Spurs, or Kings so he can compete for a title, and try and show everyone he can win without Shaq. Memphis is the perfect scenario for him in that case.

I really don't think he'll leave the Lakers after the season. He is happy here (even if he doesn't show it sometimes) and the fans love him. I'd rather have him then Shaq, only because Shaq is older, and will be done playing before Kobe is.

Frankly Tony, I am surprised you can tune that station in clearly.

I may have been in the wrong to say the entire station. Some guys are better than others. But many of the guys don't have a clue and just spend most of the time arguing with the callers.

I think it's more likely he'll end up in Memphis.

I do think he'll be traded though. I don't think there's much chance he stays with the Lakers after the season, and they'd be much better off to trade him, rather than wait for him to opt out and leave without them getting anything in return.

I can't picture him in Memphis... i think a west coast team is far more realistic because of his wife/child, with the Clippers and Suns both having cap space for him.

IMO, he will stay in LA, either with the Lakers or Clippers. He will not leave Southern California. The Clippers can sign him to a max contract outright after they cut some players at the end of the year or trade Magette and/or a re-signed Q plus role players.

Eskin as a complete moron. I do like Gargano though.

But I doubt this would ever happen (although I do think Iverson will be traded next offseason)

You know at this point I wouldnt even mind if he were traded, as long as we got something good for him. I'm sick to death hearing about him and his cheating ass. I would NOT want Iverson though.

After Philly booed Kobe at the last All Star game, I just can't see this happening.

Yah, I don't think Philly fans would take to kindly to the player that said he wanted to "cut their hearts out" when he played the Sixers. yes, doing your job for your team is one thing, but comments like that go a bit too far.

That being said Kobe is NOT a "much more complete player" than Iverson. Iverson's a much better passer, though Kobe is a better defender by default (7 inches taller). Kobe aaaaalways gets torched by Iverson, but AI can't guard Kobe either so that's why snow gets the job. They're just two different elite players.

Regardless of which you like better though, Iverson is the heart of Philadelphia basketball.
