What is a simple site for cataloguing DVD collection?

Sorry if this has been done to death, but I really did search all 7 pages of this site.
I am looking for something really simple and fast. Something where I would just have to put a title in and it can list all the cool stuff..like genre and list alpha or by genre and tell me how many I have and how much worth and stuff like that?
Is there a simple site like that? And is there any that is free?
Thanks for any help.

DVDAF doesn't have all the fancy features, but it's very easy to enter your collection. Plus, you can make your own custom folders to make your own genres. Check my link for examples.

If you want to see what they look like in action, I've got my collection in all three. (What can I say -- I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive about my DVDs!) Links are in my signature.

Mediachest.com is a new site that allows you to keep track of DVDs, games, CDs, and books. It is also socially oritented and facilititates borrowing and trading.

It has a very good combination of features offered by the other sites, but has a ton of features that they don't have. It is easy to make a text list or formatted list of your collection to post in forums or for personal use.

You can even upload pictures of your home theater setup to store along with your collection.

There is also a group system which keeps aggregate statistics about items and members.

I have all 3, I like Profiler the best, but DVD Aficianado is pretty good (and the easiest to update, since you can just type in titles, up to 100 once).

Guzzlefish has lots of bells and whistles but is slow when you update your collection--I think they may have improved a bit in the last week or two.

BTW, thanks to this thread, I was poking around in DVD AF, and found out DVD Aficianado now has the ability for you to choose how things are sorted (here's an example, my AFI 100 Years, 100 movies directory: http://www.dvdaficionado.com/dvds.ht...0100&id=queyne--this used to be alphabetical before today).

Can someone tell me how to create my signature so that it is a hyperlink to my collection and it says "DVD Profiler" or whatever I choose to customize? Like everyone else in this thread...
I see in member options where to put the signature, put it only puts in the entire DVD profiler address and doesn't hyperlink when I submit a post or reply. Any help with this would be so appreciated.

I pretty much agree with all of this. DVD Af is more or less just a list of what you have. You can put stuff in folders, but there's not much information about the DVDs themselves. It's all web based.

Guzzelfish is also web based. You can get a little more information about the DVDs and some statistics on your collection (e.g. what genre you have the most of, what director you have the most of, etc.). It's also nice if you want to catalog your CDs or games, since you can keep track of them all through one web site. It's pretty slow to update, though -- I still can't add Friends Season 6, for example, which has been out for a few weeks now.

DVD Profiler is, in my opinion, the best. It's got 2 pieces. There's the web piece, which is what the outside world sees. That gives you a lot of information about the DVDs. Then there's a stand-alone program you download to your desktop. This is where you input your purchases, wishlists, etc. It's got a lot more information than what's on the web, and lets you track personal things like where you bought a DVD, how much you paid, etc. I also think it's got a nicer looking interface (on both the web and the desktop) than Guzzlefish and DVD Af.

I don't see it in the FAQ and the signature option just has a blank box, when I put the address in it does not hyperlink it or shorten to just text. I just want to be able to set this so it automatically posts as sig when I submit a post. Can anyone walk me through how to do this? Thanks.

In your Member Control Panel, click to show signature.

This is from the FAQ (verbatim)

SIGNATURES
Sorry, but no images allowed. We do allow the use of forum smilies however.

Also, no HTML.

So to put a link in your signature, type the following:

[.url=http://www.yourlinkhere.com]your text here[/url]

but without the period after the first bracket (which is there so you can see the code).

There's also a five line limit on signatures. That includes empty lines. It's also based on a maximized browser window at 1024x768 screen resolution, with no child windows (like search or bookmarks) open.

You can't get more simpler then the above explanation.

Hope this helps!

Also, the last person explained it to you, but you didn't follow his instructions.

He said to replace the URM with URL.

You didn't so that so your signature doesn't work.
