I saw The X-Files - The Complete Seasons 1-7 with a list price of $1,049.86. Technically, you could buy the Seasons individually for a lower total, but that's the highest retail price I've seen. Has anyone seen any other DVDs or DVD sets for more than that at retail?

Whatever the most expensive distinct DVD boxset is, I'm guessing it's probably a Japanese R-2 release. The most expensive distinct boxset (not a bundle) I've seen is the 25-discTenchi Muyo 10th Anniversary DVD Box Set (http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/DbUezeNeTaYH=0j0np/browse/item/62207/4/0/0).

It's available retail in Japan for 100,000 Yen (948.61 USD), but Rightstuf's got it for a $794.99!

For something that's not a huge number of disks, does Image's Les Vampires, a single dual-sided disk with an MSRP of $69.99, deserve any mention? Or are there other "singles" with higher MSRPs?

The 31-disc Japanese R2 release of Yawara! TV Series DVD Perfect Collection had a retail price of ¥142,600(1,350.86 USD)...

Until the MGM release, Koyaanisqatsi (http://www.koyaanisqatsi.org/howyoucanhelp/help_IRE.php) was only available with a $180 "donation" to Koyaanisqatsi.org. Not only did it not have an insert, it didn't even have a case, only a paper sleeve.
