Why not get the 6 disc set from TimeLife? I have the History of Beavis & Butthead, but I have the TimeLife dvd's, as well. The TimeLife episodes are great & cover a good portion of the material. Must have stuff for a Beavis & Butthead buff!

If you dont want to deal with TimeLife, there are plenty of sellers on ebay offering the same deals....i have both sets plus the History, and the Time Life sets are great. I heard a while back that there were legal problems with the Paramount release, so i wouldnt bother waiting for them to release one.

No, i've had good dealings with them as well. The first set has 42 episodes, the second has another 40.

I have the Time Life sets and never had a problem. I don't see how Time Life got a bad rep in the first place.

One of the Time Life DVD's (Hard Cash) even has the music videos intact. The paramount DVD doesn't have any videos.

i have had huge problems with time life but in regard to the ren and stimpy dvds. lets just say it was all their fault, which it was, and i scored myself a free set of dvds. but with the beavis and butthead dvds, everything was fine.

Are there any repeated episodes between the History of B&B recalled DVD set and the Time Life 6 DVD set?

Incredibly, no there aren't. For all 8 discs, there's more than half of all of the episodes released now (112 eps of 198)

Also, "Hard Cash" doesn't really have the music videos intact in the same way as when broadcast. There's 4 of them on the disc, inserted sort of randomly inbetween episodes.

Edited to add: "Hard Cash" has these vids:
Beastie Boys: "Pass the Mic"
Faith No More: "Diggin' the Grave"
MC 900ft Jesus: "If I Only Had a Brain"
Rancid: "Nihilism"

Unfortunately no, except for "Hard Cash"(and those videos are edited), none of the DVDs have the videos in them. It's a shame too, because alot of their funnier stuff (some even funnier than what happens in the episodes themselves) took place during the videos, their comments were hysterical at times. I know the rights for these videos are probably the reason they can't release them, because I'm sure the video performers would have to be compensated, but without seeing the show exactly the way it was shown on MTV, leaves a bitter taste in my mouth...I miss the music video comments!

Especially the Korn video. I think they were the group that credited B&B with launching their career because the commentary was SO damned funny.

B&B isn't worth owning on DVD without the music videos. Some of the funniest moments on this show were the comments about the videos. You are losing about 20% of the broadcast without the music videos.

I doubt the videos will ever see the light of day, but I'll gladly take the actual episodes. Classic stuff: Cornholio, falling in love with Todd, the "top of the mountain," Stewart, prank calling Harry Saks, Beavis dying and going to Heaven, Van Driessen falling off the side of a cliff, getting drunk from non-alcoholic beer... good times.

Yeah, it just seems like the B and B DVDs are big sellers for Time Life. They run out of and get more stock in frequently
