How is the new My Fair Lady DVD?

Is the video remarkably better? How are the extras? Is it worth the upgrade?

Thanks.

The video is definitely better. Most of the "pixellation" effect on the wide shots is gone, and it has more of a "3D" look to it overall. Mild "ringing", unfortunately, remains. Personally, I was very pleased with the transfer. It's the best I've ever seen "My Fair Lady" look in my life. Just don't expect the movie to look as good as "Moulin Rouge!"

The main new extra is a one hour documentary which not only celebrates the film, but outlines the very difficult restoration process that had to be mounted back in 1994 in order to preserve the movie for future generations to enjoy. You'll be *shocked* to see from this "docu" that this magnificent piece of art came ever so close to being lost forever!

If you're a fan of the movie, I'd say go ahead and snatch it up. This two-disc set can be had for $19.95 or less almost everywhere this week.

I picked it up on Tuesday at Walmart for $14.88 which is a steal.

Loverly! I already have the original release and was pretty happy with it, so I wasn't sure if I should upgrade.

Sounds like I'll have to now.

Thanks!

It definitely is better. Check dvdbeaver.com for the comparison.

It's a really nice set and the previously mentioned documentary is quite enjoyable. Just put on your sunglasses before you open it up because the packaging is REALLY PINK.

Just wish they were more clear about what extras are different from the previous release. I believe the audio commentary was on the previous DVD and I don't think they mentioned that. (I've only skimmed it so far though.)

Thanks jayson, I'll check that out later today.
